I grew up in Bellingham, WA for my young life and at 19 my parents went on a vacation to Hawaii. Little did I know that vacation would lead to me being handed the family fitness business that had struggled to take the next step to a 7 figure annual revenue

With no formal education in business management and without a mentor to guide me, I faced daunting challenges right from the start. Equipment was outdated, membership numbers were dwindling, and the experienced staff were skeptical of a young, inexperienced boss (do you blame them?). This was more than a job; it was a trial by fire in leadership and business management with little time to learn and people's livelihood sitting on my shoulders.

Despite these immense pressures, I embraced the challenge head-on. I started by addressing the most critical needs: modernizing our equipment and reevaluating our service offerings to increase member satisfaction and retention. I initiated marketing campaigns that highlighted our new improvements and community focus, which slowly but surely began to win over the local market.

It involved many long days and tough decisions, but it taught me valuable lessons about persistence, strategic planning, and the importance of building a team that shares a unified vision. Eventually, our efforts paid off. Membership surged, revenues climbed, and for the first time, the business saw real profitability and growth potential.
